Starting Monday, July 10, through Monday, July 31, Knife River Construction of Chico, CA will begin work for the Cypress Curve Realignment Project. The project will reconstruct Clark Road near Cypress Lane (north of Wagstaff and south of Skyway) to improve public safety. The project received a $1.3M safety grant for the design and construction of the project following a history of severe and fatal collisions in recent years.

Officials have finalized project plans to close the road to through traffic for three weeks in lieu of implementing one-way, reversible traffic control with 10-15 minute delays for up to three months. This approach will provide the least net public inconvenience and allow the contractor to complete the work in the shortest amount of time.

Emergency vehicles and local traffic on Cypress Lane will have access 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. As always with fire and construction seasons occurring simultaneously, crews will be prepared at all times to facilitate any emergency evacuation required from a potential fire event. Knife River Construction will staff the road closures 24 hours per day.

Northbound motorists will be detoured from Clark Road westward on Wagstaff Road to Skyway. Southbound motorists will be detoured to Skyway then eastward on Wagstaff Road back to Clark Road.

An interactive map for the project has been created to help warn residents of the planned road closure and provide ample time to plan appropriate detours, as necessary. The live map can be viewed at the link below:

Construction Message Boards are being placed on Wednesday, June 26 to further advertise the planned public impacts.
