Measure C Information

 

What is Measure C?

Measure C is a half-cent sales tax for Paradise to preserve public services such as police protection, fire suppression, street maintenance and animal control.  The tax was passed by voters in November 2014 and goes into effect in April 2015.  Measure C will automatically expire after six years (April 2021).  A citizen oversight committee established by the same law which proposed the tax ( pdf Ordinance no. 545 (3.44 MB) ) will review the spending of tax revenue.  

                           

 

Nov. 4, 2014 Ballot Language

Shall Ordinance No. 545, a temporary sales tax increase of one-half percent (0.50%) that automatically expires in six years, and that establishes a citizen oversight committee to ensure that the funds are used to preserve public services such as police protection, fire suppression, street maintenance and animal control and other services for the Town of Paradise, be adopted?
